For an amateur flora enthusiast – This was the place to be – “Valley of flowers” “Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary” in North Sikkim. Rhododendron the national flower of Nepal adorned this valley. According to my driver/ local guide Mr.Pasang this comes in 36 colours. I was lucky to spot almost 18 completely different variants of the Rhododendron family.?Wight’s Rhododendron – is a shrub or small tree, growing up to 4 m tall. We drove along the valley at around 9 Am and the flowers were already wilting due to the cold weather.
