Low on sweet and a hint of spice who can say no to cruncy peanuts on the platter.
Ingredients
2 cups Dry Peanuts.
1/3 cup Honey.
½ cup sugar.
½ tsp salt
½ tsp crushed black pepper.
Directions
- In a flat pan dry roast the groundnut in low heat tossing it continuoulsy till it turns a shade darker all over.
- Let it cool.
- Microwave the honey in a medium bowl for 30 seconds. It will start to bubble up a bit.
- Remove from the microwave and add the sugar, crushed pepper, salt and mix well.
- Pour the peanuts into the vessel containing honey sugar mixture. Mix well till all the peanuts are coated.
- Line a tray with parchment paper and pre heat the oven to 170 C.
- Spread the honey coated peanuts on to the tray and spread it flat all around the tray.
- Bake the peanuts for 30 minutes, tossing it from side to side every 5 minutes.
- Once done immediately trasnfer the contents of the tray to a flat vessel with a layer of oil or ghee on it.
- Seperate the groundnuts with a fork.
- Serve when cool.
- Recipe Notes
- Can substitute with Ceyenne pepper or chilly flakes.
- Increasing the sugar by another quarter up would give more carmalised cruncy shiny coat around the groundnuts. http://www.Naturallyhema.com
